Possibilities and limitations of different types of structure (heavy structure, post and beam structure and cantilevered light structure) were explored through modelling.

PAVILION DESIGN
Cantilevered models were taken back to the chosen site in Levenshulme (the library site). Skeleton Logic frames were used to create small pavilions.The pavilions were related back to the site by positioning them in small clusters of two or three. An idea to create a City Camping space in the park for people to spend their lunch breaks and relax in the fresh air without leaving the city was applied.

CULTURAL CENTRE DESIGN
Different types of construction (structural cantilevered frames, heavy construction and post & beam construction) were analysed. These types of construction had to be combined together to create a functional and integral design.
The building site is located in Levenshule (Manchester). Although Levenshulme has an active community, it was noticed that there are few cultural institutions and there are not many places for self-expression for young residents of Levenshulme. It was decided to create a proposal for a cultural centre. Suggested building programme includes an art gallery.
